Bioanalytical Chemist
Location: Hatfield, PA 

We are seeking a dynamic new member of our research team in a Bioanalytical Chemist role.  This is a full time, on-site position working independently and as part of our team in the evaluation of non-viral genetic medicines.  Responsibilities will include assisting in research and development, molecular characterization and testing for efficacy and safety.  S/he will have the opportunity to present findings, design and test protocols and maintain data analysis.

  • Work independently and a part of an interdisciplinary team to evaluate non-viral genetic medicines using our patented 3DNA scaffold technology.

  • Assist in the research and development of new peptide or polymer-based excipients for use with the scaffold.

  • Molecular characterization of biomolecules including peptides, proteins, and oligonucleotide conjugates.

  • Test various excipients for efficacy and safety using a mix of gel electrophoresis, enzyme, and in vitro assays.

  • Present findings in an organized and timely manner to supervisor and Discovery team.

  • Design and test protocols for transfer to the Development team.

  • Maintain data acquisition and analysis in electronic laboratory notebook.

Education and Experience 
  • MS in molecular biology, biochemistry, or cell biology with 1-4 years of experience or an BS degree with 4-6 years of laboratory experience

  • Experience with molecular characterization assays and methods

  • Knowledge of biologically relevant polymers and polymer synthesis [JL3]

  • Familiarity with material science analysis techniques (refractive index, atomic force microscopy, electron microscopy, mass spectrometry)

  • Hands-on experience with standard laboratory equipment and procedures

  • General understanding of cell-based assays and outcomes

  • Experience with plasmid enzymatic digests and gel electrophoresis

  • Knowledge of peptide and protein structure and function

  • Experience with various plate-based assay screens (i.e., fluorescence, luminescence, and/or ELISA) Experience with biomolecules and chemical interactions

  • Hands-on experience with mammalian tissue culture techniques (aseptic technique, care of cell lines, cell splitting, plate seeding)
